About Us
Who we are
Freshly rebuilt, rebranded and under new leadership, The Shelby County KY Democratic Party is here to drive lasting change for ALL of our residents. The consequences of what's happening in DC have officially arrived at our door step and it's time we bring our Government back to serving the general public over the corporate interests of a privileged few. Help us lead that charge.

Our objective is to be YOUR party, so you won't find any golden ball rooms or attacks on our education system here. We stand for the average Shelbyvillian. Common decency, common sense and empathy in our fight to preserve Democracy. We serve as our community’s voice for legislative & systemic change for a better tomorrow and believe Shelby County, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and our country is at it's best when everyone — regardless of ZIP code, income, race, gender, age or religion can fully participate in the Democratic process and have a real chance at the American Dream. Plainly put, we still believe in the will of the people and the rights granted to us within the US Constitution.

We are 527 tax exempt political organization led entirely by volunteers and serve as the Shelby County extension of the Kentucky Democratic Party. Our goal is to support candidates ideologically aligned with the shared values of the party and the Shelby County Community at large. We aspire daily to engage with neighbors, friends and family in reminding them that all politics is local and that their voice matter. We support active involvement in political processes from all our registered voters

Our Values

-
We believe in quality public education, well‑supported teachers, and eliminating barriers to knowledge are essential to Shelby County’s future. For now and always, Education will be a top priority of this party.
-
We stand for accessible, affordable healthcare, especially for those who need it most. From expanding coverage to protecting rural hospitals and clinics, we feel that no one in our county should be left without care.
-
We support good jobs and a fair economy – as the Trump administration continues to sew chaos on a global economy, we feel that now more than ever we must invest in workforce training, small business and community development. We hear and feel the pain of life becoming rapidly becoming un-affordable.
-
We affirm equal rights and justice for all – Whether it is voting rights, civil rights, gender equity, LGBTQ+ protections, or fair treatment under the law, we are committed to inclusion.
-
We stand in defense of our environment and health – Clean air and water, sustainable energy transitions, and protecting our Appalachian and agricultural heritage is part of our stewardship for future generations. With CWD getting closer every year, we stand behind wildlife conservation efforts and advocate for practical measures on game population controls.
